Snow Pt. 3
04:05
|
|||
Hum, hum, a rowin' tune
set soft against the pale moon
paling at the wild and blue
Dumbstruck gaping while she moves where she moves
She was called, called to her winter tomb
Nestled in her bedroom
Socks and a book and red hue
If you'd ask me I would rescue you
She fell down laughing into a pile of snow
and said I wonder where the leaves go
and how anything could ever grow
in the frozen earth buried beneath the cold.

Ghosts
05:51
|
|||
Oh now I've let this get into my head again
The ghost of a ghost of a friend of a friend
And I don't believe in you anymore
And I won't believe in you again
But lately I've been thinking of you
Since you left I've kept my place at the table
Planted trees in the yard for shade in the summer
And I don't believe in you anymore
And I won't believe in you again
But lately I've been thinking of you

For You In Confidence
02:00
|
|||
This is for you in confidence so open it alone
so I can earnestly reveal my thoughts to you.
Imagine each word spoken low in a comforting baritone recall them if you're feeling lost or blue.
The message is somewhere in the middle and though the end may hurt a little in the beginning you will find your faith renewed.
In a love that conquers ignorance and a truth that bares an evidence when it feels as though the world has conquered you.
Though someday they may publish this, this is for you in confidence, stripped of vagueness simple plain and true.
You were to me the only thing the fullest chord the softest string and I only hope that you felt that way too.

Brave
03:41
|
|||
Can you take tomorrow off?
I want to see the countryside
I want to feel the breeze
I haven't got the time
I haven't got the time
I haven't got the energy
Let's go some other time and oh
I wish you had told me
your love for this had faded
Shrugging your shoulders
Saying I was waiting
I wish you had told me
Now I'm looking back again
Now I'm looking back again
Can you take to my mistakes?
and like me anyway
I want to feel contained
I want to see the country
to sit and look inside you
or just to sit beside you
to read my lover's thoughts
or love what I've been thinking
I want you to feel brave
I want you to feel brave
I want you to feel brave
I want you to feel so brave
I wish you had told me
your love for this had faded
Shrugging your shoulders
Saying I was waiting
I wish you had told me
Now I'm looking back again
Now I'm looking back again

Kara, child bright as the lights that stained the glass
who could there forget
who there was given?
Corn and cider warm till the long light lingers last
and know I'd be there yet
wearing woven mittens.
Thaw wakes the world and all voice for song and bark for sap
and winter knows the world
all a rest and reflect.
Chase and call running through the tall bur grass
ships of sticks and twine
fasten leaves for a mast.
Some clouds are ships carrying on the westward path
but some are anchored fast.
